On February 9, 2011, Fair Housing Center of Southeastern Michigan Director Pamela Kisch, along with Kenneth J. Carroll, Director of HUD’s Fair Housing Assistance Program Division, Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity presented at “Creating Change“- the 23rd National Conference on LGBT Equality.
Mrs. Kisch presented on the Fair Housing Center of Southeastern Michigan’s Arcus Project report, Sexual Orientation and Housing Discrimination in Michigan. That report was a joint project of the four Fair Housing Centers in Michigan, which are located in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Detroit and Ann Arbor.
Mr. Carroll presented on HUD’s work to ensure equal housing access of LGBT people, including HUD’s recently issued rule, Equal Access to Housing in HUD Programs Regardless of Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity.
